Marilyn Laiken is Director of the Masters Certificate in Adult Training and Development, co-sponsored by Schulich Executive Education Centre at York University and the Canadian Organization Development Institute (CODI). She is also a co-owner and Academic Director of CODI, as well as past Chair of the OISE, University of Toronto Department of Adult Education & Counselling Psychology, and Professor Emeritus of Adult Education in Workplace Learning and Change. Since 1975, Marilyn has been Principal of Laiken Associates, a Toronto consulting firm that has served hundreds of clients in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.
Marilyn combines an interest in adult education and organizational change through her research, teaching and field development, and speaks internationally and has published widely in these areas. Her book, “The Anatomy of High Performing Teams: A Leader’s Handbook” has been used by teams and team leaders since 1991. Her “Adult Educator’s Resource Manual” is forthcoming. Marilyn has been honored with the prestigious OCUFA award for “Excellence in Teaching”, and the Canadian Society for Training and Development President’s Award for her contributions to the field of Adult Education, as well as their first research award.
